This month is all about discovering new blogs, meeting new friends, and spreading the word about the launch of my young adult novel, MY SOON-TO-BE SEX LIFE, (Bloomsbury Spark, June 2014) by participating in this mega, 26 posts blog challenge.
Since Charlie, the main character in my novel, is an aspiring screenwriter who has plotted her own devirginization campaign - one that doesn't go as scripted - I thought an appropriate theme for this month would be: an alphabetical romp through the good, the bad, the ugly, and the downright scary representations of virginity in film. Warning - be prepared for adult content / strong language if you follow my posts this month.

B is for ElizaBeth: The Golden Age (2005)
Okay, so I had to stretch it a bit with the "b" link, but work with me here, virginity is a niche market in film. Besides, a discussion about giving up the V Card wouldn't be the same if I neglected to mention Elizabeth aka The Virgin Queen.
The premise: "A mature Queen Elizabeth endures multiple crises late in her reign including court intrigues, an assassination plot, the Spanish Armada, and romantic disappointments."
Great line: "Virginity is an asset that holds its value well."
Great scene: Protestant Queen Elizabeth's all male and skittish council encourages her to strike out at against the Catholic threat, but she refuses to punish her people because of their beliefs.
Overall thoughts: Visually stunning with a commanding performance from Cate Blanchett, this is one for romance-seeking history buffs and those who need some girl-power inspiration.

Love your A-Z idea! Didn't see this movie either. I did just think of a song about virginity that I remember from quite a few years ago titled Strawberry Wine. No idea who sang it, and it was a country song.

What a unique and interesting theme for the challenge! Using ElizaBeth for B is a great idea. I may have to try that. I didn't see the movie you used for A - think I'll look for the DVD, though. It sounds fun.
