DAY ONE: SARA HANTZ and TINA BUSTAMANTE
Sara Hantz is the author of In The Blood:
"For seventeen years Jed Franklin’s life was normal.
Then his father
was charged with the abuse and murder of four young boys and
normal became a nightmare."
Sara originally comes from the UK and now lives on the
beautiful Sunshine Coast in Australia (via 10 years in New Zealand). She writes
young adult fiction and her debut book The Second Virginity of Suzy Green made
the prestigious list 'New York Public Library Books for the Teen Age'. Sara
lectured for many years before deciding to devote more time to her writing and
working in the family hospitality business. She has two grown-up children and
when not writing, working, or online with her friends, she spends more time
than most people she knows watching TV - in fact if TV watching was an Olympic
sport she'd win gold.
1. Heartbreak can come in many forms: a messy breakup,
a disappointing setback, death of a loved one, or a broken friendship. Has
writing ever had a hand in helping you deal with a wounded heart?
Not really, although it has taken my mind off things when they’re
not going well.
2. Top 5 songs about heartbreak?
It Must Have Been Love, Roxette
Careless Whisper, George Michael
Burn, Usher
I Will Survive, Gloria Gaynor
Nothing Compares 2 U, Sinead O’Connor.
Top 5 films about heartbreak?
Westside Story
Last of the Mohicans
The Notebook
Titanic

"When Ellie moves in when her aunt on Orcas Island
after her
mother’s death, she doesn’t expect to have one of the most incredible
summers of her life."
Tina is writer, a passionate reader, wife, mom,
friend, and traveler. And a native Northwest – third generation actually. But,
for the first time in thirteen years she no longer lives in Seattle. She
is in the process of settling in Chile.
1. Heartbreak can come in many forms: a messy breakup, a
disappointing setback, death of a loved one, or a broken friendship. Has
writing ever had a hand in helping you deal with a wounded
heart?
Absolutely. Waters is sort of a response to a long season of
heartbreak where nothing seemed to work.
2. Top 5 songs about heartbreak? Top 5 films?
The song one stumps me - but the movie one I've got!
- Pride and Prejudice (The new and the BBC version)
- Ever After (I know it's kind of cheesy, bit I love
Cinderella)
- Crazy Stupid Love
- Dan in Real Life
- Beyond Borders
